Why is Adobe Premiere Pro the Best Editing Software?

You did it!

You got a computer, a passion, and now… it’s time to pursue it.

It’s never been a better time to get into video-editing with content creation being at an all-time high and technology evolving more than ever before.

All you need is a bit of time, imagination, and creativity to begin putting together your movie… but with what software?

Everyone wants that editing software that will be easy to maneuver through, that has a lot of features, is responsive, and is flexible.

There are, of course, hundreds of options that you could search upon; making it even harder to decide what software fits your needs.

That’s where I come in and say…I would save your time and immediately download Adobe Premiere Pro.

Adobe Premiere Pro has amazing features such as:

  • Flexible Interface
  • Stabilization
  • Color Correction
  • Audio Correction
  • Responsive Speed
  • Easily Transferrable
  • Many Organizational Tools
  • Accessible on any brand
  • Auto-Saves
  • Numerous Exporting Formats
  • Ultimate power in video editing
  • Has everything today’s pro video editor needs
  • So Much More!

Just from a couple of features named from this software, show that Adobe Premiere Pro deserves its place as the standard for a video-editing software. This software also is well worthy of an editor’s choice award for professional-level video-editing software from PCMAG.COM.

If those things still don’t sell you on this editing software, let me dive a little bit deeper for you.

These are a few more reasons why Adobe Premiere Pro is the best editing software.

Easily Accessible

Adobe Premiere Pro can be downloaded on almost ANY COMPUTER. That’s right, PC, Mac, Windows, you name it.

An even better part is that you can transfer this software from computer to computer.

There is a “Team Feature“, where any premiere user can sync their settings to the Creative Cloud, allowing them to edit from different computers and different locations. This means that you can go to ANY machine running Premiere and work on your project.

If you get a new computer, your computer crashes one day, you’re using multiple LCD monitors, it is not much of a hassle to activate, deactivate, or transfer the software.

Learning

Since this would most likely be your first time using this software, it does come with a free trial. This is super beneficial so you can see what’s like before making a daily payment every month.

In your first use of Adobe Premiere Pro, the software launches something called a “Learn Feature“. The learn feature offers three interactive tutorials to quickly teach you how to use their software.

This is highly recommended if you do not want to be confused the first time you edit a video and trying to figure out where everything is located inside of the software.

This will save you time from trying to research or taking classes to understand this particular software.

Traditional approach

Those used to the traditional digital video-editing software will love Premiere’s approach.

It has your everyday needs for video editing such as the basics (trimming, audio, titling, etc.), but it also has amazing features that you can implement in your videos. You also have the option of importing any feature presets, if the one you have is not provided.

You can also create the interface the way you would like. Traditionally, there are four panels.

Bottom left: Project Assets- where all of your footage/audio is imported, adjustment layers are added, folders are organized, effects are added

Top left: Source Preview- where footage/audio is previewed, audio mixer, effect controls, lumetri color scopes, one way you can trim footage

Bottom right: Timeline Tracks- Your editing inputs, what you make it!

Top right: Project Preview- Preview of what your product looks like

You can change these windows to your preference, but this is usually an easier way to do things. Whatever works best for you!

Improvements

Adobe continues to make incremental improvements in its software, every year. When an improvement is made, it’s not a 360, it’s just something that usually makes the editing process a little bit easier, better, and smoother.

Adobe does not only make improvements to their editing software but all of their applications in Creative Cloud.

Just this year’s (2019) update, there were 28 new features added. (Yes! They listen to feedback!)

Some of those being:

  • Having multiple strokes for text or shape layers
  • Auto-Sync of free Adobe fonts
  • Audio Support
  • Add a name to an auto-save file

You get the point! It just minor improvements to make this editing process better.

Flexibility

Adobe Premiere Pro is good for video-editors just starting out, or for professional editors that really want their work to stand out.

This software can range from doing basic cuts to making exhilarating documentaries.

The interface that is also included in this software is flexible. Like I mentioned before, the four panels are easily adjustable.

The dark program window makes your footage the center of attention. The functionality of the audio, assembly, editing, effects, and titles windows can be moved or switched around in a custom workspace of your choosing.

You also have the option of saving multiple formats of a workspace, so it can vary in the type of workspace you’re working in depending on the project.

The startup view also helps you quickly get back to the previous projects you were working on or to create a new project.

Output and Performance

Regarding performance, I think everyone has encountered a moment when a computer randomly freezes, crashes, or we forget to save. Luckily, Adobe Premiere has an auto-save option that can be preset to every project.

Setting your projects to auto-save every minute when you’re doing multiple edits at a time will save your butt.

Once you have your finished product, Premiere Pro offers the most exporting formats you would need for any project of your or your clients choosing.

Exporting a finished video from Premiere Pro is super customizable and easy.

Final Thoughts

If you have made it this far and you are still confused, try the free trial!

All in all, Adobe Premiere Pro is very useful for any editing, format, or preset style.

I hoped this software can convince you to take the plunge on this no-brainer deal and make the investment! Make it yours.
